St. James Visual Arts Group
The Visual Arts Group of St. James is pleased to present collage art by local artist, Susan Schenk. Her collages have been exhibited in galleries and venues in Portland and in the homes of many collectors around the Northwest.
Susan’s use of discarded materials as paint fosters the idea of finding beauty in the overlooked. By transforming magazines, maps and other ephemera into appealing images, she leaves a small carbon footprint and more importantly carves out at trail of enjoyment for others to travel.
Susan teaches classes in her special niche of representational collage, encouraging others to have fun and create compelling works. She will be presenting a collage workshop sponsored by the Visual Arts Group on Saturday, May 6th from 10:00am to 12:00pm in our Pioneer Chapel for anyone interested in making and learning about the art of collage. The workshop is free and all materials will be supplied. If you are interested in attending the workshop please sign your name on the list in the office.

NOTE: There will be an artist’s reception for Susan this month following the Jazz Vespers Service, on Sunday, May 21st, 2023 at 6:00pm in the Pioneer Chapel.
