12:10-12:50pm, Main Sanctuary
St. James will host the 8th annual “4X4” Friday noon concerts again this summer. On four Fridays in August, there will be four free noon-time concerts of music for one piano, four hands. All four concerts will include piano duets by the Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, composer of the famous “New World Symphony” who also composed volumes of music for piano duet including the well-known and later orchestrated Slavonic Dances. The LeRoi Nickel Duo (Timothy and Nancy Nickel) will open the series on Friday August 3. Concluding the series on August 24 is the Jeffers-Carlson Duo, music faculty from Oregon State University who return for their 8th season at St. James. Two new duet teams perform on Aug. 10 and 17.
Come on your lunch hour with a friend, family, neighbor, or colleague. Children are welcome at these 45 minute live concerts! Freewill donation at the door.
