As people of faith our lives are full of opportunities for celebration! From small intimate gatherings with a few close friends to large festive holidays that our community commemorates with the wider church, St. James is a wonderful place to participate in or plan a special occasion! Our Church Council is currently developing guidelines for recitals, lectures, or other events.
Facility Statistics
St. James seats approximately 250 people on the Main Floor of the Sanctuary and an additional 50 people in the balcony. Receptions in the Pioneer Chapel can accommodate up to 75 people; modest kitchen resources are available in the basement.
Personal Special Occasions
Our location in the South Park Block Cultural Neighborhood of downtown Portland and our historic building make for a memorable and beautiful setting for weddings, and other milestone occasions. Special services such as these are available for members and non-members. Please contact the Church Office to discuss our resources, scheduling and expectations.
