All Saints Day …
All Saints is Sunday, November 5th. If you would like a family member or friend’s name read aloud at the service, please email Karin Hatch by Thursday, November 2nd.

Coffee and Connection …
Join us for Coffee and Connection on the first and third Thursday of the month. This month we will meet on November 2nd and 16th. On November 16th consider bringing something to share for a potluck. We begin at 11:00am in the library. Questions? Contact Scott Ellertson.

Open Space …
Open Space continues to feature Pastor Mark Brocker’s series “Coming Home to Earth.” Join our group in the St. James library on November 5th and 12th for the final two sessions. We thank Pastor Brocker for sharing his wisdom and knowledge with us. On November 19th, some of the Synod Reparations Team will be with us to engage in a guided meditation that relates to Oregon State’s History and its connection with people of faith. There will also be an update on the Emmanuel Hospital Land Story as it relates to our Synod and walk with the BIPOC community. Please support this very important topic by attending the session. We plan to use the basement play area for this Open Space session. Finally, there will be no Open Space on November 26th.

Blessing Estimate of Giving Cards …
Our thanks to all those who have already returned their orange Estimate of Giving card. This is a way for each household to prayerfully consider their offering gifts in 2024. Please place yours in the mail or in a Sunday offering plate. We will bless these cards (our intentions) at the altar on Sunday, November 12th. Join us after the service for a Swedish Pancake brunch put on by the St. James Council.

From Pastor David …
“Thank you for your generous gift of sabbatical time. After every five years of pastoral service at St. James you grant a time of rest, renewal, and sabbath. Among other things, I will be staying at our seminary in Cairo, Egypt that began its ministry in the 1930s on a boat training pastors along the Nile River. I will be away from St. James for October and November and will be back with you December 1st. Since I will not be available by phone or email, please contact the St. James office for pastoral emergencies.”
–Pastor David

Decorating the Church …
Come help get the church ready for Christmas. On Saturday, December 2nd at 9:00am, we will be cleaning and decorating the church. A light meal will follow.
