Peter, Paul, and Mary: How they guide our Lenten journey …

“Peter, Paul and Mary” was a famously popular folk group from the 1960’s. Through song, they were the storytellers of their age and pointed many to the needed changes in society. They saw life in a particular way.

The Biblical characters by the same name were storytellers too. During this season of Lent we will explore Simon Peter, the apostle Paul, and Mary Magdalene. One was a marketer in Asia Minor, another was a constant companion of Jesus who the Early Church tried to discredit, and a third was a fisherman who hated the other guy. We will not only explore their personalities, but more importantly, how they saw Jesus as the Christ.

Our journey over the next few months will take us to a recorded Bible Study each Wednesday, so open your home Bible and listen in. We will also rendezvous each Sunday morning for worship. During this pandemic you can attend the in-person Eucharist Worship Service at 9:30am or participate via live-stream from your kitchen table. Our destination takes us through Jesus’ passion seen by these three followers to the ultimate joy of Easter resurrection. Invite a friend or neighbor to join you on the journey.
