ST. JAMES DAY:
July marks the feast day of St. James, Apostle. Each year we celebrate this event with a Eucharistic service of thanks and a reception after. This year we will highlight our 135th anniversary as a St. James congregation. Our July 27th Anniversary Sunday and Meal will feature invited guests, a commissioning of our new Visitation Team, special music, and a generous gift to Lutheran World Relief. Invite a friend to join you on Sunday, July 27th, 2025.
CELEBRATING OUR NAME. We hope you will join us as we remember the life and ministry of Jesus’ disciple James. In 1889 our congregation took on his name as generations have sought to also be disciples of the Christ. James, and his brother John, were among Jesus’ first called disciples (Mark 1:16-20). Jesus later invited him to the Mount of Transfiguration. Legend has it that he died as a martyr in 44 CE and was buried in Spain. His burial site is where pilgrims end the journey on the Santiago De Compostela path traveled since the Middle Ages. Today, we at St. James continue the journey of following the Christ with acts of love.
