Cantata 18: Gleichwie der Regen und Schnee vom Himmel fällt (As the rain and snow fall from heaven)
Bach Cantata # 18 “Just as the rain and snow from heaven fall” scored for four violas and continuo will be sung at downtown Portland’s historic St. James Lutheran Church at Bach Vespers, Sunday afternoon at 5:00 pm. Soprano Catherine Van Selm, tenor Les Green, and baritone Kevin Walsh are joined by the St. James Bach Choir. Music begins at 4:50 with featured organist Paul Tegels from Pacific Lutheran University performing Haydn’s Organ Concerto in D, a West Coast premiere! Freewill offering.
