Tower Construction Update

The rebuild of the tower is progressing. Scaffolding has been erected so that stone can be removed to identify damage to the structure below. The initial inspection and building stabilization were concluded the week of the accident, but since then the structural engineer and contractor have been evaluating the building to identify any additional damage from the fallen tree. Last week the construction task force met with the contractor, the insurance adjustor and the structural engineer. The structural engineer is finalizing her report. The contractor is finalizing his evaluation of the structural damage. The insurance adjustor completed his inspection last week of the recently identified damage. Bids for rebuilding and repairing are being developed. Next steps include approval from the insurance company on bids, securing permits and doing the actual rebuild and repair work. More information will be coming but we wanted to inform the congregation of progress to date.
