Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. Shrove Tuesday has come to be known as Fat Tuesday or Pancake Tuesday, as it is the last opportunity to use rich ingredients such as milk, eggs, and butter before Lent, commonly characterized by fasting and austerity.

St. James annually holds a Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday, supported by freewill donations. We’ll have plenty of pancakes, sausage, and maple syrup for you; just show up!
