BACH CANTATA 9 —
“Es ist das Heil uns kommen her” —
Sunday, June 26th at 5:00pm —
The 2015-2016 Bach Cantata season at St. James concludes with Bach’s Cantata #9 for the 6th Sunday of Trinity. The cantata is built on hymn #590 in our red hymnal (“Salvation unto us has come”). The featured flute part will be played by PSU music faculty Sydney Carlson. The Bach Choir with professional orchestra of strings, oboe, and flute will be joined by vocal soloists Christine Welch-Elder, Hannah Penn, Les Green, and Kevin Walsh.
Music for two organs by Cherubini will begin at 4:50 pm.
Free will offering.
