BACH CANTATA — Weinachtsoratorium, BWV 248 Part V — Sunday, January 10th at 5:00pm —
Bach’s Christmas Oratorio Part V composed for the first Sunday in the New Year. Soloists Christine Welch-Elder, Laura Thorson, Les Gree and Kevin Walsh will join the St. James Bach choir and an orchestra of strings and two oboes d’amore in this cantata based on the Gospel reading on the Flight to Egypt. The congregation will sing the traditional Quempas Carol with choirs and orchestra. Pre-service music begins at 4:50. Freewill offering. A reception in the Pioneer Chapel follows the service.
