The summer concert series at St. James Lutheran Church in downtown Portland continues for an eleventh year with recitals by two piano duet teams framing two solo organ recitals.  On Friday, August 7th, perennial favorites Angela Carlson and Rebecca Jeffers from the Oregon State University music faculty will play their specialty:  music for one piano, four hands.  Organist Hannah Brewer follows on Friday, August 14th, with a mixed program for what Bach called “The King of Instruments.”  On Friday, August 21st, Walter Krueger will share some of the organ music he recently played in Europe.  Finally, a new and exciting team of local piano duetists will close the series on Friday, August 28th.  The Digitus Duo consists of two graduates of the New England Conservatory of Music, pianists Maria Garcia and Momoko Muramatsu, who have arrived in Portland after some successful years in New York City.  All concerts start at 12:10 PM and finish before 1:00 PM.  Free will donation at the door.
