Four Fridays of Four-hand Piano Music at St. James.
Four Fridays in August: all concerts begin at 12:10 P.M.
August 5th features the XX Digitus Duo with Maria Garcia, a native of Puerto Rico, and Momoko Muramatsu from Japan. Both are graduates of the New England Conservatory of Music recently arrived in Portland. Their eclectic repertory ranges from the classics to world music and Radiohead.
August 12th features Timothy & Nancy LeRoi Nickel. Founders of the series and graduates of the Guildhall School in London, the Duo will play Schubert’s masterpiece, the Grand Duo.
August 19th features Rhonda Rizzo & Molly Wheeler. The Duo, formed in 2003, plays the music of Brahms, Faure’s Dolly Suite, and the Gazebo Dances of John Corigliano.
August 26th features Angela Carlson & Becky Jeffers. Long-time members of the Oregon State University music faculty in Corvallis, the Duo balances core duet repertory with frequent commisions and premieres.
