• Feeding the Hungry …
For several months now, St. James members have partnered with Pastor Bruce Arnold in distributing a meal to those in need. We gather each Tuesday at 6:15pm by the Lincoln statue about a block from St. James. We hand out food, hygiene items and new socks. We have conversation, build relationships and learn about particular needs. This month Council approved our participation in this ministry. We will need 4-6 volunteers each week to help distribute the contributed food. There is a sign-up sheet in the hallway. We welcome all members to join us in this weekly act of kindness.
  • SOLVE Beach Cleanup …
Caring for Creation … Mark Your Calendars! Plastic Free Seas!
Join the St. James Family for a SOLVE Beach Clean Up on Saturday, September 21st. Begins at Cannon Beach at 10:00am. Meet at the Cannon Beach City Hall to check in anytime from 9:45 to 10:30am. After the clean-up join Mandy and Scott for lunch at their beach house. Directions to the beach house will be given! Volunteers should plan for all kinds of weather and wear clothing appropriate for getting dirty. SOLVE provides supplies including bags, gloves, tools and other items necessary for the project. However, to make the event more sustainable, volunteers are welcome to bring reusable bags, buckets and gloves to use in lieu of the provided items. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles.
