Stewardship at St. James

The Annual St. James Pledge Drive begins this month on Sunday, November 5th. Carl Cottingham will introduce the drive in a Temple Talk at the 9:30am service. A letter and pledge cards will be mailed to church members the following week. The theme of this year’s drive is “Ask, Thank, Tell.”

Members of the Stewardship Committee will focus in talks on the blessings we receive from God, the gifts we give to the church in return for those blessings, and how we further share our gifts through our treasures and talents. A special feature this year will be the introduction of electronic giving (E-Giving). A special Open Space on Sunday, November 19th will be devoted to this new pathway to Stewardship. Many churches now depend on this method of giving because it is easy for the giver, and provides continuity in giving which in turn helps the church.

The Annual Stewardship Swedish Pancake Breakfast will be held on Sunday, November 26th this year. Commitment Sunday will close out the Pledge Drive on Sunday, December 3rd. This is an especially important year for St. James as we look forward to a new pastor in the coming months, and plan ahead for the new roof and seismic upgrades. We hope you will carefully consider these upcoming events as you make your pledge this year.

E-Giving at St. James:
We’ve promised its coming and now it’s here! St. James is pleased to announce our new electronic giving program (E-Giving). E-Giving is a convenient, consistent way to help St. James grow. And it’s easy! If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year, or prepare 52 envelopes. Even when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, your electronic contributions will continue to be received on an uninterrupted basis. The convenience of E-Giving also provides much-needed consistency for St. James, which is particularly important as we look ahead toward a new relationship with a new pastor in the coming months. Keep St. James growing with E-Giving.
