We commemorate Lucy, a martyr of Syracuse, who lived in 304 CE. We celebrate Lucia during a special church service and at coffee hour following.
Bach Cantata Vespers:
Sunday, December 9th, 5:00pm.
Celebrate Advent as the St. James Bach Choir and Orchestra present Bach’s Cantata 30. A reception in the Pioneer Chapel follows the service.
St. James Artist Craft Sale:
Sunday, December 16th, 10:30am & 6:00pm.
Our talented artists and members of St. James share their creations with you. Come and be inspired and do some Christmas shopping at the same time!

Our December Jazz Vesper always features some familiar Christmas tunes played by our shining in-house jazz quartet and featuring one of Portland’s jazz luminaries.

Celebrate the Winter Solstice with a walk in our courtyard labyrinth and silent meditation.
Christmas Eve Children’s Service:

This is always a hit with the young families. The children’s excitement anticipates the joy of Christmas morning.

Join our friends in our Mission Church, supporting the LGBTQ community.

This beautiful service, rich in carol singing, celebrates Christ’s birth among us. Music starts at 10:30pm.

A joyous service celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, with Communion and Carols.

Advent is over and we finally get to sing our favorite Christmas songs! This has become a popular event for members of St. James. And you don’t even need a hymnal to sing along!
