St. James Book Group —
Tuesday, July 27th, 7:10pm at St. James —
St. James Book Club is coming off Zoom (thank you, Stephen Portnoy!) and meeting in person Tuesday, July 27th, 7:10pm. We’ll still be wearing masks, and meeting in Pioneer Chapel for more air circulation (or maybe head out to the patio). We’re reading Richard Grant’s Dispatches From Pluto: Lost and Found in the Mississippi Delta, an account by a New York travel writer of his buying an old plantation house and settling in a town called Pluto in the Mississippi Delta. If you’d like to join us, or even just get the occasional emails, contact Linda Rickert.
St. James Book Club meets on a monthly basis to discuss all kinds of books! In the past, we have read such titles as Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese, and Atonement by Ian McEwen. All are welcome to attend, nominate book selections, and participate in discussion!
