Centering Prayer
Jan 1 @ 8:30 am – 9:00 am

Centering Prayer: Wednesdays at 8:30 am, Pioneer Chapel

There is a weekly opportunity to practice this simple form of contemplative prayer weekly at St. James. Wednesday mornings at 8:30 a small gathering takes place in the Pioneer Chapel focused around a seed verse and 20 minute silence with closing prayer. We then adjourn to a nearby coffee shop for conversation. Former Lutheran/Episcopal PSU campus pastor Chris Laing is the convener. Why not try it out?

Midweek Eucharist
Jan 1 @ 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm

A thirty-minute liturgy of Holy Communion takes place in the intimate setting of the Pioneer Chapel. This service provides an opportunity for communal prayer, a brief sermon and reflection. Scriptures may be used from the Daily Lectionary or may reflect the Calendar of Saints and Commemorations available to the wider Christian community.

NOTE: This month, Contemplative Prayer will meet on Saturday, April 6th at 9:30am. We will not meet on Holy Saturday, April 20th.

Contemplative Prayer at St. James meets twice a month.  Weather permitting, we will include a time of walking meditation with the new labyrinth as part of the morning.

Anyone interested in contemplative listening to God is invited to join us. We spend time in silence, in reading sacred texts, and praying for the world, each other and ourselves.
