MUSIC REHEARSALS begin on Thursday SEPTEMBER 9.  Adult Choir will meet in the Pioneer Chapel from 7:30-9:00 pm.  Handbell Choir will rehearse in the balcony from 6:30-7:20.  New members welcome!  Contact Nancy Nickel at 503-227-2439 for more information.

BACH CANTATA VESPERS ... The first Bach Vespers of the 2010-11 season will take place at St. James on Sunday October 10 at 5 pm.  The jubilant Cantata 137 “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” will celebrate the centennial of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary begun here at St. James 100 years ago on this very day.  The president of PLTS, Dr. Phyllis Anderson will be the guest homilist.  Come and celebrate!  Children welcome.  Freewill offering.
