Are your talents organizing parties, planning dinners, creating invitations, decorating, baking, cooking...then the Activities & Special Events Team needs your help! Many events and activities are planned and coordinated by this team.

The Adult Education Team researches and plans for education events for Adult Forums, Bible Studies, Faith Groups, or small group ministries for adults.

The Advocacy & Justice Team's ministry within the congregation, is to assist and enable members of St. James to connect the core values of the Gospel (love, compassion, justice, forgiveness, peace, healing) with the needs and issues of our global, national, and local communities. This ministry will offer a challenging, yet safe environment in which to struggle with the societal issues that we face at this moment in history.

Do you have the gift for computers, setting up databases? Would you be able to serve St. James by providing Technical Computer Support to the staff?

Current need: Computer Administrator, Database Creation, Database Maintenance.

Prepares youth grades 7-9 and unconfirmed teens to explore their faith & values, learn and affirm the Lutheran faith in life.

Current needs:  Adults willing to carpool, chaperone, and provide food.  Also skills in administration, computers, teaching, art, drama, games, or social service.

Performance based sharing of the Gospel.

Current need:  Actors, Directors, Costume Makers, Set Design and Construction, Script Writers, and Program Administrator.

Provides low cost foot care to hundreds of low income diabetic and elderly people each month. Staffed by three Registered Nurses, the program provides people with personal care and assistance.

Plans, coordinates, and provides meals or refreshments for guests, prospective member events, brunches and luncheons. May support other congregational events as well.

Current need: Volunteers to serve on a team OR assist with an event when available. Reimbursement for expenses is available.

The Lending and Research Library contains an extensive collection of books and resource materials donated by Pastor Farley and members of the congregation. The Library team receive, organize, catalogue, shelve and maintain the books, curriculum, CD's, videos and DVD's of the library.

Current need: Chairperson, Librarians, Clerks.

Church Council Representatives work with varied Neighborhood Hosts to offer social and community ministries in the geographical neighborhoods where our members and guests reside.  This ministry may eventually connect guests of St. James to members in their neighborhoods and offer care of neighborhood group determines its focus of its ministry.

Current need:  Neighborhood Hosts and Program Administrator

Front Office help is needed with weekly projects, covering staff meetings and staff vacations, and assistance during the very busy times of Easter & Christmas. Bring your big smile and help cover the front desk: greeting folks, answering phones, taking messages, filing, data entry, collating, and other light office duties.

This ministry provides prayer, visitation, and care for people who are ill, hospitalizes, grieving, or have other needs for the comfort and prayers of St. James.

Current needs:  People who commit to prayer for and visit people with need for support through prayer, visiting, phone calls, and cards.  Training will be provided.
