Topics range from biblical study to current events, social issues, and information session about local organizations. Open Space is a safe environment where all questions and viewpoints have the right to be heard respectfully.

St. James Nursing Clinic
May 31 all-day

The St. James Nursing Clinic serves the community by providing care for those with foot/nail disorders and those unable to care for their feet properly. Foot-related issues are common for many, especially seniors and those with diabetes or other health difficulties.

The clinic provides services for problems such as: ingrown toenails, corns, fungal toenails, athlete’s foot, calluses, and nail clipping. In addition, the clinic provides diabetic foot care, foot bath, checking vital signs, teaching good foot care, and foot massage.

All services are provided at St. James by trained registered nurses. Nurses can also provide referrals for additional care if needed.

Cost per visit:
Initial Visit $35
Follow-ups $30

A limited number of patients may qualify for prices on a sliding scale.

The clinic operates on Wednesdays and Thursdays at St. James. Wednesday care is provided by Sara Genta, RN  Thursday care is provided by Nancy Cutler, RN. Appointments can be made by contacting the Church Office at 503-227-2439.

Midweek Eucharist

A thirty-minute liturgy of Holy Communion takes place in the intimate setting of the Pioneer Chapel. This service provides an opportunity for communal prayer, a brief sermon and reflection. Scriptures may be used from the Daily Lectionary or may reflect the Calendar of Saints and Commemorations available to the wider Christian community.

Contemplative Prayer at St. James meets twice a month.  Weather permitting, we will include a time of walking meditation with the new labyrinth as part of the morning.

Anyone interested in contemplative listening to God is invited to join us. We spend time in silence, in reading sacred texts, and praying for the world, each other and ourselves.

Each month St. James Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA) sell fair trade goods in the Pioneer Chapel after worship. Your purchase of fairly traded coffee, tea, and chocolate help support farmers all over the world!
